Arrepentimiento para progresar.. es cierto

Well another week has gone by.

I honestly cannot even believe some of the investigators that we are
finding! Like the other day we were walking down the street and this
lady waved us down and yelled ´´ HOLA HERMANAS´´ My first reaction was
to wave back… then we continued a bit. I thought to myself… who is
she? Then another thought.. GO TALK TO HER. duh.. So she had talked to
the Elders a little while back and they had given her as a reference
to us a while ago. (We have already repented for not having contacted
her before hand) She has a problem with the Sabbath Day but is all
about learning about Christ, which is awesome, and her children are
also respectful and interested! We will have to see how things go with
her.

Also a couple weeks ago we contacted a young married girl named Lesli
in the store of a member who was going to accompany us to an
appointment. We didn’t see her until this week due to her schedule. She
is super interested, and doing really well. Also came to church
yesterday :)

Juaquin and Sofia haven’t come to church the last 2 weeks.. Yesterday
because there tire was flat and went to go fix it. :( But he plans on
coming to church next week. Sofia was sad that she didn’t come. She is
super sweet 10 years old. :( Only sad part of this situation is that
Juaquin´s wife doesn’t want anything to do with the church, and we are
praying that they will be able to put a positive example for her, and
show that they are making great changes for the better.

Our mission President asked us all to confess our transgressions and
sins of the mission to him this week. It should be interesting to read
his response to me next week :s aha Now we as a mission can all feel
tranquila and move on in the mission with lots of success :)

Well the same old same old for me.. Eating lots of yummy Mexican food
(yes it shows haha) Hermana Rodriguez is progressing lots now that I
told her she would be training me instead of the other way around, so
she is now taking more initiative which is wonderful! Like the last
two weeks she has grown lots in her ability to change from being a
good person to a good missionary. :) YAY!!

Logro: Tengo más paciencia :)

con muco cariño,

a-ha

This week we travelled to Guadalajara, so we had 2 days without
lessons. We went up for Hna Rodriguez´ training for the new
missionaries, but it was just as good for me too. I learned lots, and
enjoyed it all! I even wonder if it was more beneficial for me or for
her.

On our way back to Vallarta, we had a companionship inventory (since
we have them once a week and didn’t have time the day before). It was
perfect timing because I was able to learn what she was thinking,
especially from the training we had received.

She told me that she finally understood why I had been insisted that
she learn the outline of the lessons (as the whole mission is required
to memorize) and learn how to do so many things and then also added
that she could see that it was also for the love that I had for her.
She told me that she was grateful to have me as my companion. I almost
cried, after feeling like she just wasn’t understanding or didn’t have
motivation, or I was a terrible trainer,  she finally had that a-ha
moment :) She´s understanding!!

It’s a great time being a missionary. :)

My testimony of fasting continues as I see the blessings of the Lord
each day from our fast last week. In finding quality investigators,
and actually progressing too! We haven’t had investigators come to
church since the time change of our services. Yesterday was a happy
day for us, because 3 came! Never doubt the power of a fast, it is one
of the most powerful tools we have to receive revelation!

Joaquin and his daughter Sofia have only been listening to us for a
week, but are a huge blessing from God. And to think that we were just
looking for a street (called tuna) and yelled to him asking the name
of the street, we then walked down the street and passed him, then we
thought to ourselves.. flying a kite with his daughter and almost one
year old son.. why would we give up the opportunity to contact them?

The second time we visited him, after already have taught the
Restoration we asked him if he had been able to pray and receive an
answer to whether or not the BOM was true and if Joseph Smith was a
prophet.. he responded saying yes, and also mentioned how after
reading the pamphlet we left him with he more clearly understood that
importance of a restoration and the need for a prophet!! Good day,
very good day.

Only thing now, is that his wife isn’t a huge fan of him investigating
the church, so prayers for Joaquin and Sofia!

Love you all a million bajillion!

9 Months

For real, it’s already been 9 months! Which means that you will have to
check out the pictures that I attached on how we celebrated the big
middle mark of the mission. The pictures are chafa, but its all good
:)

This week, wow. Let me just say that we challenged everyone to be
baptized and all declined until yesterday!! That is a struggle in
itself! Like how can this work move forth without commitments and
goals... it doesn’t.

It is hard to motivate the members to accompany us everyday too, all
are super busy and work and have lives and family. So we are trying to
help them remember the scripture in 2 Nephi 1:21 to ´´be determined in
one mind and in one heart, united in all things..´´ We put this on a
post board with a drawing but still I forgot to take the picture again
yesterday. Anyways hopefully for this week we can get lots of support
from our members and references on people to teach.

I love what our district leader said this week about obedience.. that
´´Su obedience es su fe, y su testimonio es su trabajo´´
more or less : your obedience is a reflection of fe, and your
testimony is your job
It is so true, obedience is the first commandment given, if we can
master this commandment, imagine how great the world would be, so much
more happy, and less contention!

I’ve been doing lots of reflection on my progress lately, and I have
one regret. I always prayed for the missionaries before the mission,
and the investigators by name that they taught, but what did I do
personally to help the investigators of the missionaries to progress..
I did some things, signed them up to eat, but I can clearly see that it
wasn’t sufficient. The missionaries need members to accompany them at
every visit, to invite them to come to activities, and to help them
feel included, or they wont progress! To pick them up to go to church,
read the scriptures with them!

I don’t know what everyone else does to help the work of the Lord go
forth, but I invite all to ask the Lord what you can do, and who of
your friends can you talk with, then to ask the missionaries to come
over and visit your friends, and then go with the missionaries to
other visits that they have, and befriend all who they teach.

Well, I love you all, and even if you don’t complete my invitation
I will still love you, but just give it a try. ´´Do it, do it, like
Nike!´´-Hna Tagg
(yes I just referenced myself.)
