me falta 6 meses ya, y cumpliré 1 año Jueves :s‏

Este Jueves cumpliré un año en la misión :) So I bought myself a brand
new skirt :) Will send pictures of it next week.

Well I’ve received many question about Joaquin this week. He is doing
super great and is super excited to receive the Priesthood next week.
His daughter is still confused and doesn’t know if she wants to or not.
We tried bringing another girl her age to one of our appts but she
wasn’t home  :( But hopefully she will come around.

On the bright side we have another girl named Tania that could get
baptized this weekend if she wanted to, but we are just waiting for
her husband to be interviewed by the bishop so that he can perform the
ordinance. He was suspended before so he couldn’t do it and that is why
she never accepted baptism before. Prayers that his interview will go
well!!

Hna Rodriguez and I started drinking alpiste because we have been
super drained! And we are so much more energetic now. And enjoying
life again!

Funny stories: One day we were just dead! And we were walking to the
bus stop and I see the bus is passing. I start yelling ´´Espere!!
Espere!! Espere!´´ Then the bus driver waits for us. Hna Rodriguez was
all like. Omigosh… thinking I was loco! Then we are at the point to
get on, and I realize I left my money in our apartment. But I figured my
comp has money.. wrong.. Then I tell him that we didn’t have money. As
I look at him I just put my thumb up like a hitch hiker hoping he will
give us a ride... then he just goes on.. :( It was blazing hot this day
too! Hna Rodriguez just laughed so hard at me! haha  I bet it would be
more funny if you had all seen it!

The things that go on in the mission...:)

Part of The Lords prayer that helps me have patience with things I cant change;
“God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the
courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the
difference.”

Enjoy the next week, and may you all receive blessing as you push
through applying the principles of the gospel to your lives and become
new each day and week  :)

Éxito! Éxito! Éxito!

Having done some self reflection this week (again), I have come to the
conclusion that up to now, my mission has been a success. It was an
overwhelming experience. I feel more confident in myself and the
person that the Lord has moulded me to be.

Well this week was super special, and the spirit was felt, as we
participated in the baptismal service of our Hermano Joaquin (pictures
attached) It was just super great. Funny story: He called us on the
phone like 5 minutes before it was supposed to start and asked us if
it was okay to use fishing pants since it was all he had that was
white. Well we said yes, and were expecting like overalls or
something. It turned out fine, they were just like a light lululemon
type capri that had some elastic at the bottom. Super cute! He is just
so honest, and it makes me smile.

I just feel really good. It has been a while since we have had a
baptism, and everything just went so smoothly. I hope things continue
on this path. I’m super grateful to be here in Mexico serving, more
because I’m in Vallarta, and love the people here. I have grown to love
all those who we visit, and have learnt something new everyday, from
my companions or from those we have visited, just such an edifying
experience that cannot be traded for.

Well hope you enjoy the pictures. I wish I could send all videos that
I have too, but those will have to wait another 6 months. :)

around, yes. Problems everywhere, yes. … You can’t, you don’t, build
out of pessimism or cynicism. You look with optimism, work with faith,
and things happen” -President Gordon B. Hinckley

Muy buen día :)

I dont know if I mentioned last week that we postponed the baptism of
Joaquin for this Thursday... But I’m glad we did because he seems a
little less nervous, and well his wife Alma is a little more tranquila
about it all, which settles our own nerves as well. But awe. He has
just grown so much in his understanding, and super excited to go to
the temple in June and :) Yah well mission accomplished... with him!
Still have lots a mission left ;)

Well on Tuesday we went to Guadalajara for our leadership training and
it was super great that we got to travel because I really needed to
catch up on some sleep, and well lots of reading in the BOM. And even
better, the counsel! My mission President will be the next apostle!! I
really just love him and his wife! (And she cooks super yummy!)

I learned lots about how we can work with the members of our ward
better, and get them moving on their toes a bit more. Also about
increasing the faith of our investigators, and so much stuff that I
just wanted more... Like General Conference! Thank goodness I get to
have these counsels every month!

Well I cant seem to upload any pictures right now, but there is one
from our concilo on Martes from all the sister training leaders that
Sister Wagner uploaded on her blog

Awww General Conference is the best time of the year!! I hope everyone
was able to enjoy all the sessions. The big focus on the families. I’m
incredibly grateful for my wonderful family that I have right now and
to have been able to grow up in a loving home where faithful parents
taught me basic gospel principles to help my lay down the foundation
of my testimony.

The testimonies shared by our prophets and apostles were given with
love and assurance. The focus of eternal families, and how we are able
to return to live with them (Elder Holland’s talk on the atonement)
gives great comfort and direction to all who harken unto these
inspired leaders.

Well this week has been wonderful!! My new companion Hna Rodriguez is
super awesome! I never thought I would have an American companion in
the mission.. and here I am with Hna Rodriguez from Las Vegas. She is
super awesome. I sure adapted to her really fast… faster then all my
other companions. She teachers with such clarity the doctrine of the
gospel. She just puts me in aw listening to her.

Juaquin is so ready for baptism, but we found out yesterday that he
hasn’t even informed his wife about the date…so we are postponing it
for next week to give his wife a little more time to soak it all in. I
pray that she will support him. He has a strong testimony. :)

RECUERDE: Saints are sinners who keep trying :) Keep moving forward!
