So it is a little bit (a lot) hotter here in Santiago. It was 41

degrees the other day at 12pm.... Lucky me to be in Santiago during

their hot months... haha

They are telling me that the rain will come in August. I love when it

rains! It just cools things off.

Well I really enjoy it here in Santiago. The members are just super

giving, and give all that they have. Even the 81 year old lady, Ma.

Guadalupe, is going to accompany us to a lesson on Wednesday with her

cousin :)

I love that the people here are super happy all the time, and really

open to listening about Jesus Christ. We are seeing lots of miracles in

Santiago. We found 13 new investigators this week, which before was

around average in when I was in Vallarta, but here it was usually 2 or

3. So I’m happy that Hna Zepeda and I are combining our strengths to

move forward the work of the Lord more quickly and effectively.

Hna Zepeda is 27. She teaches great. The members have lots of

confidence in her, along with those who we visit. She teaches people,

not lessons like it says we should in Preach my Gospel. She is a great

example to me in that way. At times I find it hard to relate the needs

of those we teach with the topic we are teaching. I’m learning lots

from her in that respect. :)

I played the piano in our branch yesterday! That was a 1st. I haven’t

played in like over a year, it was interesting. I hope to do a better

job next week, with songs I have played before. haha We had a great

attendance yesterday with 74, the usual here is between 30 and 50. The

last few weeks have been around 50. I’m super excited to work with Hna

Zepeda. Clearly she has done a great job with her previous companion.

I’m just super happy happy happy. I know that the Lord knows me

personally, my defects, and my talents, and gives me the chance to

become better, and learn in many different ways. Like a new area, new

companion, new responsibility to teach her to be a sister training

leader with me. Right when I’m getting comfortable where I’m at, I’m

given a little push further. :)

“Difficulties can be a valuable tool in our pursuit for perfection.

Adversity need have no necessary connection with failure. Proper

self-management and self-discipline in all of our trials brings

strength. If we are prepared, we can meet life’s challenges

victoriously. We become His disciples when we continue faithfully

under all circumstances—including suffering and tragedy.” —Marvin J.

IM ALIVE!‏

HOLA!

Saturday, Hna Rodriguez and I went to the temple in Guadalajara with

the ward, so we didn’t really have Pday last Monday, just enough time

to write our parents and our President. Which is why I didn’t respond

to everyone, or write a big letter.

At the temple we witnessed the Arce Larios family get sealed! They are

such a great family, and it was such a great experience to see it

happen, with all the emotion, love, I love them so much!!

On the flip side of things... It was my last week in Vallarta, and

yesterday I came to Santiago, Nayarit, where I am right now! It is a

small town, similar to my first area in Sayula. The only difference is

that there is a church here, and in Sayula is was a house of prayer.

I knew the changes were coming, but I was devastated to be honest, up

until my new companion Hna Zepeda put some music on in our house while

I unpacked a bit. (It helped to distract me.... but I’m fine :) ) It

was the hardest change I have had so far in the mission, bitter sweet.

I love love love the people in Vallarta, and it was hard to leave many

families. My heart was broken every time I said goodbye to a family on

Sunday.

(Good thing I’m going back in December.. made it a little better)

Ixtapa ward has progressed so much! We used to never have activities,

and just this past month or so we have been having one every week :)

And more people were coming to church because they had come to the

activities the night before and such. :) I’m grateful to have been able

to see such changes in the people in Ixtapa, and in the ward councils.

´´con un sola voluntad, y con un solo corazon, unidos en todas las

cosas´´ 2Nefi 1:21

As far as Tanya goes, she came to church on Sunday, and I said goodbye

to her too. I love her. I left my testimony with her, and will be

hoping that she will rely on her testimony to guide her to make the

decision to be baptized, like she knows she needs.

Note: Hna Afu is in the area I just left!!! :)) That means we can go

on vacation together to Vallarta to see everyone!

Well I will try to send a few pictures here of this past week :)

LOVE YOU ALL FOREVER!

Note: missing pictures from Josh, Mike, Cherisa, Dad, Jill, Chandelle,

and Grandma :)

*Its raining sweat*‏

Well I seem to be learning lots these days in my studies... thank

goodness. I love studying only problem is that the sun is taking away

all my energy making me feel super tired. But I’m getting ready

spiritually for our ZONE CONFERENCE this Friday. It will be our last

one with Pres. Wagner before he leaves. :( But I’m excited for our new

President who will be coming to learn new things, or learn in a

different way.

Pres. and Sis. Wagner have been such a great example for me, they

always keep going and working, and solving problems, and I couldn't have

been blessed with a better president. I have been uplifted each week

with inspiring letters by my president, motivated each conference to

be a better missionary and person, and admire Hna Wagner for putting

up with me when I was on the brink of coming home.

This week honestly was super difficult, and opposite from our previous

week. As a companionship, we are growing, and as a person, I’m still

learning patience.

This week the 6 of us missionaries in Ixtapa ward sang, Because I have

been given much to the Relief Society, and we gave them little cards

with Ephesians 1:15.16 written on it. My comp and I sand the first

verse, the elders the 2nd, and all of us the last. My comp broke up in

tears half way through that it ended up being a solo ha, but the

spirit was defiantly felt by the sisters as we gave them thanks for

always inviting us to eat with them, and eagerly.

I honestly love our ward, the people in it are children of God, and I

wish I could do more for them, and constantly am thinking of

activities we could have and planning without end in my head. I love

them

I don’t even want to take pictures because I am sweating so bad, so

that is why I don’t have any right now, but will try to bring my camera

around with me this week... but in return I would love to see some

pictures of you all :) Including you grandma! ;)

Its already JUNE!‏

I love Preach my Gospel, it is the best tool for learning. I have been
doing the activities at the end of each chapter, or in the chapter
too, and I just love doing them! My studies are much more effective
than just reading the scriptures (although I use lots of time reading
them too)

I love the part in chapter 5 where it talks about the bible and the
BOM and how they support one another, and where it says that the BOM
helps clear up misunderstandings from the Bible. I don’t know, it was
just something that hit me today in my studies. Also, the sharing of your
favourite BOM prophet. I did this activity in divisions with some sisters
this week. I love Ammon, he has always been one of my
favourites, but I love that he was always super obedient and wanting to
serve. He was a great missionary, and a great example for me.
Once again, I’m left with no time to write. But just in case you´re all
wondering, we are planning for a baptism next weekend, if things go
well with the interviews of Tanya, and he member husband Lalo.

Also I spent 300 pesos getting my teeth ¨cleaned¨ today, ya, I’ll have
to wait until I get back for a proper cleaning.. jaja
