casi pero no fumar

First, I'm sure my Spanish didn't make sense in my title but I'm not too worried about that.

Oh this weeks was good! Here in the mission, our President wants us to have 40 lessons a week, and the norm seems to be closer to 20-25. This week we fell short by 4! But I'm pretty determined to have 40 this week somehow!

I spoke in church yesterday. I was given the topic of the obra missional.. how typical as a missionary. Im not a fan of writing out a talk because I want to speak by the Spirit, but then I wrote it out the morning of, but mostly didn't follow it.. because I know Spanish eh! But actually it went really well. We had a lesson last night and the member who accompanied us shared something from my talk, and I don't remember what, but it made me feel good that I had impacted her feelings on missionary work through my talk aka the spirit.

Also our zone leaders told us that we were good examples to our district.. yay!

Also, also also, I was told by a few people that I speak beautifully. That's a booster! One of the times it was followed by, you have beautiful eyes. (The man was borracho) That is another story in itself though...

This week I was reading in chapter 5 of PMG where it talks about the Book of Mormon and how it is the keystone of our religion, and Pres. Ezra Taft Benson mentions that it is in a least 3 ways...1 testifies of Christ, 2 contain the fulness of the Gospel, and 3 if the foundation of testimony. Something that we teach but hadn't put much thought into these 3 things. Honestly we should never go a day without reading something in the BOM!

Okay, Hna Afu! Yes I was super blessed to work wtih my MTC comp! It was a good time, we pretty much talked in Spanish the whole time, except when she had to tell me a story what was hard to explain. But we had some good talks. In our studies in the morning she seemed to talk in everything I said like it was gold! Goodness I love her. Her Spanish has improved so much too! And boy does she ever look slim! Haha

My skirt is almost finished I've been slacking off on my sewing at night because I'm too exhausted, but none the less literally just have the hemn to finish and will be done for our zone conference this week! One more thing; I was reading this week in the Liahona, and I can't remember where it was, tal vez in Pres. Pakers talk.. Sometimes answers to prayer are not recognized because we are too intent on wanting confirmation of our own desires. Still learning lots each day, and I love learning!

Anyways, con mucho amor, Hna Tagg

Yesterday, Hna Castillo told me that we are teaching apostasy. We keep saying that the Spirit world is in Heaven and there are 2 parts, spirit prison, and the paradise, but it doesn't say this in the scriptures that they are separate, or that it is a place. In Alma 40:12 says that the Spirit world is a state. Then she was reading in some manual that the Spirit world is on Earth. This would mean that Spirits are dwelling around us right now- which is something that I had a brief knowledge of before. Anyways, the Plan of Salvation for yah.. never ending learning about this topic.

Juanita Sanchez came to church yesterday.. literally was a jaw dropper for me.. I'd like to say that it was for calling her to humility and repentace, but I'll let the Spirit take the glory. We also had 2 investigators at church last week. Never have I seen 2 weeks in a row, our investigators come to church. YAH!!

We we doing practices in our companion study this week. I was teaching my comp, who was playing one of our investigators, about the Word of Wisdom, and I was helping her make goals to overcome her addiction to alcohol. Towards the end I asked her.. "So will you pray before you drink?"And then she said "Yes...... to bless it" We both burst of laughing so hard!!!

Just a side note of this investigator she was playing (Raul) He asked us if we had tried milk straight from a cow... and we said no.. then he told us he uses it in his coffee and puts a little bit of alcohol. He does this every morning at 6am. I then said that we were going to talk a little more about this at our next visit with him. haha, he said.. its only a little bit. Anyways so many people drink daily here!

I love tuna.. the fruit. Hna Castillo told me that it is only found in Mexico.. sad day. It is super yummy with lime juice! They put lime juice, salt and chile on all there fruit... apples, watermellon, mango.. you name it! I just like the lime juice. I remember putting lemon juice on watermellon before my mission. Love it!

Also I GET TO BE WITH HNA AFU THIS WEEK! We have companionship changes this week, and lucky me I get to be with Hna Afu for a solid 24 hours in Guzman! Hope her Spanish is better than mine! Lol This is all my happiness for this week.. :)

Oh random thought, Joaquin told me I'm fat this week and asked if I was embarazada... preganant. He knows how to charm ladies clearly. I didn't take it personally though. Haha he always says random things like that.
Until next time, Hna Tagg

1 Direction

You know you are really out of the world when you don't remember the names of the boys in the 1 direction band or group. My comp and I were talking about that this week. I only remembered Harry, and today we remembered Zayn? Well she did, and I remembered shortly after.

So only once have we had a member attend church with us, and we had to go pick him up. Yesterday, we had 3!!! We couldn't believe it. Jaws dropped. Turns out our fasting turned out well for our investigators.

Jauqiun made his way back home, and I didn't understand where he went.. to the mountains or something.. possibly at Tapulpa* Not sure on the spelling there. Cristi, she used to be less active, but isn't anymore. She has been wanting to come with us to our lessons, so we asked if she could come with us this past Firday I believe. When she bore her testimony on the role that the Book of Mormon has had on her family, I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. She said that her family has changed so much in the past year. She still stuggles with the Word of wisdom, along with her husband David, who is very less active, and so stinking hilarious. They are so giving. I love them! They are so giving. He know I love avocado, and Works in a field of them or something, so we often get many from him! I love it! So generous, la verdad.

I love Reading the scriptures, and relearning, like the evidence of the scriptures. I read this week about Lehi being a descendant of Joseph, and how that is proof of something, not sure exactly right now, my brain is fried. Also it mentions that there will be 3 witnesses of the BOM. And here we have the 3 witnesses testimony in the front of the BOM. Remarkable truly. Also I started Reading the New Testament this week, and a Little bit of Jesus the Christ.

I need more time to study.

Back to the testimony of Cristi again for a moment. I was thinking after her great humble testimony that families are honestly much more unified when each member is doing the will of the Lord. Relationships are strengthened because we each are trying to do good, so we lift one another up, and everyone wants to feel this love and goodness when we are around others, so with that equals stronger relationships... there is my gospel math for ya :)

My skirt is coming along. Should be done for 2 weeks time when we have our zone conference with the mission pres.

Okay so today my comp and I went to pick up our laundry this morning, when this American family from Idaho comes up to me and asks if I speak English, and I say "si". I cannot tell you how hard it was to talk to this family in english. Honestly I was struggling so hard! I kept saying things in Spanish, like pues, si, entonces, después, hay una.., a donde van.. goodness, my comp laughed at me after, and said she noticed that I was struggling. I guess I have been trying to hard to think in Spanish lately that I'm loosing English? Good and bad.

Anyways. This is all I have for you this week.
¡NOS VEMOS!!
¡LES AMO MUCHO!
